// Why it matters

What changes when documents are clearer

Less time in revision rounds

Documents that are well-structured on the first draft need far fewer cycles of review and correction before they reach their audience.

Shared team standard

When a whole department completes the same programme, the ongoing work of harmonising tone and structure becomes noticeably lighter.

Readers who stay with the text

Clearer writing keeps readers engaged. That matters whether the document is an internal report, a client memo or a regulatory submission.

Consistency across document types

The principles that make a policy document readable are the same ones that improve a briefing note or a cover letter. One set of habits works across the range.

Practical, not just theoretical

Every session uses documents the participants are currently producing. The skills transfer because they are learnt in context, not in the abstract.

Reference materials that last

Participants leave with a written workbook and a one-page checklist they can return to long after the workshop. The department programme also produces a tailored drafting guide.

Things people ask before enrolling

Who are the workshops designed for? +

The workshops suit any professional whose work involves producing long or complex written documents — team leads, policy staff, operations managers, compliance professionals, finance analysts and similar roles. No prior writing training is needed. The programmes are calibrated to working adults with a busy schedule, not students in full-time study.

What is the format of the Writing Clarity Refresher? +

It runs across two evenings, each around two to two-and-a-half hours. Sessions combine short teaching segments with structured written exercises using participants' own document samples, followed by peer feedback. The workbook and editing checklist are sent out before the first session so participants arrive prepared.

Is the Drafting Skills Series delivered in person or online? +

The six-week series runs live online, which makes it accessible to professionals across Singapore without travel time. Each weekly session is run in real time with the full cohort — it is not pre-recorded. The cohort cap of sixteen is deliberately low so the feedback stays detailed and personal rather than generic.

How does the Department Drafting Programme begin? +

The programme opens with a writing audit on a sample of recent documents from the department. That audit informs the drafting guide and the workshop topics, so the content reflects the team's actual patterns and priorities rather than a generic curriculum. The initial audit conversation typically takes about two hours.

What does the SGD pricing cover? +

For the Refresher (SGD 165) and the Series (SGD 495), the stated fee covers all sessions, written materials, instructor notes and the final checklist or portfolio piece. For the Department Programme (SGD 1,040), the fee covers the full twelve-month scope including the writing audit, the tailored drafting guide, quarterly workshops, the private exercise library, recorded mini-lessons and the end-of-year review.

Is the content specific to legal documents? +

Plain-language drafting principles apply broadly — the workshops work equally well for policy documents, management reports, internal briefings, board papers and operational manuals. Participants who work with legally-styled documents will find the content particularly relevant, but the programme is not limited to legal professionals.

How do I reserve a place? +
